Bajaj Auto is the second largest manufacturer of two-wheeler in India and the world's largest manufacturer of three-wheeler vehicles. The company has its beginning in the 1940s in Rajasthan. Over the years it has steadily maintained its growth to reach the current high. To maintain such a large organisation, an influx of fresh ideas is always a prerogative. Thus Bajaj Auto has launched OffRoAD Challenge to connect with the young talents across many B-schools in the country.

OffRoAD Challenge 2017 was a distinct marketing challenge with two different competitions for 1st and 2nd-year students. The challenge for the 1st-year students was launched in 6 campuses, namely, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow and XLRI Jamshedpur. According to the competition rulebook, the number of participants in a team was restricted to 2 only and the registration ended on 24th Sep'17. Participants had two days to submit their solutions for a case study pertaining to an African market. View the rules of the competition here.

It was relatively a tougher case study competition since the participants had to rely on secondary data with lots of variabilities being of international origin to which Indian students are hardly exposed and do not possess any prior knowledge to deal with such issues.

The campus winners received a cash prize of 1 lakh rupees with PPIs from Bajaj Auto. They were also given an opportunity to meet senior leadership at Baja Auto Headquarters and the top campus winners received a Sur-prize.

OffRoAD Circuit Challenge was held for the 2nd-year students from IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, XLRI Jamshedpur, IIFT and FMS Delhi. The final deadline for submitting their solutions was on 20th Nov'17.

The winners received a cash prize of 2 lakh rupees along with PPIs and top teams were given a Sur-prize. View the complete list of winners here.
