It is a different feeling when you see your hard work realized. Knowing that you had huge shoes to fill in and that you did so beautifully. Receiving the title of National Winners for CFA Institute Research Challenge 2018 was all this and much more! Presenting in front of esteemed industry professionals and getting their feedback was the moment I will cherish for a lifetime.

We decided to participate in CFA Institute Research Challenge 2018 because of our keen interest in finance and valuation. It took months to finalize the report and presentation. It is probably the maximum amount of time any of us has ever put into a college competition. But all the effort was definitely worth it. Besides, we got great lessons in teamwork, presentation, narrative building, and stock research. Surely, these lessons will stay with me forever.

We had a very balanced and down to earth team- one of the factors that helped us bag the title of national winners. People were open to each other's ideas and inputs irrespective of qualification and seniority. Also, we made sure that we consider every suggestion and then decide if we should go ahead with that or not. Moreover, our team had certain strengths including solid teamwork, good narrative building, and immense feedback taking. I think, they definitely played a salient role in winning the competition.

There were 8 teams in the national finals out of which 3 were adjudged the national winners including our team. We learnt from other teams as well. Their ideas were great and different. CFA Institute Research Challenge 2018 was professionally organized. The organizers did a brilliant job in structuring and managing the competition. And I had an extremely positive experience. All in all, it was fun and at the same time, it tested our knowledge like none other. It was arguably the most coveted finance B-School competition.
