National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the exam schedule for the CSIR UGC NET (June session) 2022. CSIR UGC NET exam is crucial for candidates seeking Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or those wanting to go for a Lectureship(LS) to become Assistant Professors in Indian Universities and colleges, thus ensuring minimum standards for entrance into the teaching profession and research.

CSIR UGC NET Exam Details

CSIR UGC NET is a computer-based test (CBT) that is generally conducted twice a year. For the 1st session of 2022, the exam is scheduled to be conducted as follows:

18th September 2022

9 A.M. to 12 P.M. 

Chemical Sciences

The exam will be held in various cities across the country. The city intimation slip and Admit Cards of the candidates will be displayed on the NTA website by 10th September and 13th September 2022 respectively. 

CSIR UGC NET Eligibility

Following is the subject-wise qualification required for CSIR NET:

Life Science

Master's in the field of Life sciences with a minimum of 55% marks.

Chemical Sciences

M.Sc./BS/B-Tech or similar degree in Chemistry with a minimum of 55% marks.

Earth Sciences

M.Sc./BS-MS/BS-4 Years/B-Pharma or any similar degree in the subject of Earth Science with a minimum of 55% marks.

Mathematical Sciences

M.Sc./BS-MS/BS/B-Tech or an equivalent degree in mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks.

Physical Sciences

M.Sc. Physics or BS-MS in Physics degree, or any equivalent degree with a minimum of 55% marks.

The upper age limit for JRF is 28 years while for Lectureship, there is no upper age limit

NOTE: The CSIR UGC NET exam is conducted for students from the science stream. For non-science students, there is the UGC NET exam for making a career in lectureship and research. 

Candidates are advised to be in touch with the NTA website and thoroughly go through their respective Admit Card as and when issued, for specific dates and shift timings that are applicable to them.
