UPSC or Union Public Service Commission is India’s premier central recruitment agency that conducts about 10 exams for various posts under the central government. Each year lakhs of government job aspirants register for different exams that are conducted by UPSC from time to time. Hence, for the convenience of these candidates, Union Public Service Commission has launched a one-time registration (OTR) facility for the candidates.

What is the one-time registration (OTR) facility?

The OTR facility would allow candidates to register on the platform only once for all the UPSC examinations such as IAS, IES, CDS, NDA, etc. Once registered the candidate can apply for any of the upcoming UPSC exams by connecting to their respective dashboard using the UPSC OTR credentials. Doing this, 70% of the candidate’s information shall be automatically added to the opted exam application form.

How to register for the OTR facility?

  • To access this facility, the candidates have to visit the upsc.gov.in website.
  • Create an account on the website using this link or click the ‘One-Time Registration For Examinations’ tab on the homepage.
  • Candidates have to submit the information on the new webpage that opens up and generate OTR credentials.
  • The candidate can now log in to the UPSC dashboard using their email ID or phone number to complete the registration process. Once the registration for the OTR service is complete, the candidate’s information shall be saved on the Commission’s server.

This seems to be a great step by UPSC. The OTR platform is quite helpful in saving time and making the application process seamless for the candidates.
