Who Is Dadasaheb Bhagat? Infosys Office Boy-Turned-CEO Of Two Startups Lauded By PM Modi

The man of our story, Dadasaheb Bhagat, comes from Beed, Maharashtra. His story is a fine example of how far you can go with grit and determination. The man, whose professional career started as an office boy for the IT giant Infosys, today leads two startups - and has been receiving praise from none other than the PM of the country, Narendra Modi. Here's his story:

Who is Dadasaheb Bhagat? A Stirring Of Interest

As far as his educational qualification is concerned, he studied till high school level. He later went on to earn an ITI diploma course. Bhagat moved from his native village to Pune in search of a suitable job. Initially, he used to earn INR 9,000 a month as an office boy at IT giant Infosys' guest house. Here, he was in charge of catering to the needs of guests like keeping the rooms clean and tidy, offering tea, water, etc.

While working at Infosys as an office boy, Bhagat saw the employees at close quarters and developed a passion in the area of software design and animation. He felt a pull to start a career in the corporate world, given all its amenities. He soon realized that however hard he tried to be part of the corporate world, without a college degree to prove his qualifications, it was an impossible dream! As he continued to ponder over his options, he chose to go after his interests in design and animation.

Once he decided to learn design and animation, he started out in earnest. He divided his time between work and school, working as an office boy during the day and attending his design and animation class in the evening.

Innovative & Brilliant Idea Of Dadasaheb Bhagat

After he completed his design and animation course, Bhagat worked for a Hyderabad-based design and graphics firm. Here, he started learning about Python and C++. As he continued learning, he soon realized a lot of time was required for creating different visual effects.

At this point in time, a brilliant idea hit him- what if a library of reusable templates is created in order to save time and provide easy accessibility to users. Eventually, this brilliant idea of Bhagat materialized. He started selling these design templates online, generating a good source of income.

First Startup Despite A Car Accident: Ninthmotion

Dadasaheb Bhagat's journey was smooth till a car accident caused him to quit his job. Confined to bed, he did not give up his idea of creating a library of templates and continued to work on it to perfection. His dedication yielded fruit when he christened his first startup company in the making - Ninth Motion was established the same year he met with an accident.

His first setup went on to provide services to about 6,000 clients across the globe. Amongst his clients were renowned organizations like BBC Studios and the 9XM music channel.

Dadasaheb Bhagat's Second Startup: DooGraphics

Nothing could stop Dadasaheb Bhagat from starting another startup named DooGraphics, a website for online graphic design that is comparable to Canva. Users accessing DooGraphics can easily create templates and designs with an easy drag-and-drop interface.

The COVID-19 lockdown compelled Bhagat to move to his native village in Beed, Maharashtra. Here, Bhagat set up a temporary shop in a hilly cattle shed where there was good 4G network reception. As his village lacked good infrastructure, he was forced to adapt to these temporary arrangements.

He personally trained a few of his friends in animation and design. Soon Bhagat, along with a few of his friends, started working from a makeshift cattle shed as a business operations center! DooGraphics went on to provide a platform to village kids to learn design and animation.

Within a span of 6 months, DooGraphics garnered 10,000 active users with a major chunk of the users from Maharashtra, Delhi and Bangalore.

A small number of users from Japan, Australia, and the UK also access DooGraphics. The company that began on a humble note is expected to grow exponentially in the days ahead.

Dadasaheb Bhagat Acknowledged By PM Narendra Modi

PM Narendra Modi, in a tweet in 2020 acknowledged Dadasaheb Bhagat for his endeavor in building these two startups.

Encouraged by PM Modi's words, Bhagat aspires to align with PM Modi's "Atma Nirbhar Bharat" vision by taking DooGraphics to new heights as a fully Indian design portal to become one of the world's largest design and animation websites.

Bhagat's story is a clear indication of how success is the result of consistent effort and discipline. In his own words,

"When motivation begins to waver, it's self-discipline and inspiration that makes us continue on in spite of our emotions and thoughts. Motivation is what gets you started, but discipline determines how far you will go. Success doesn't come from motivation, it comes from discipline. If you want to be successful in your life, then you have to put in the hard work and discipline yourself to work towards your goals for a long period of time."
