Engineering is a highly scientific and technical profession. But despite this, creativity is woven throughout every step of engineering making it an inherently creative endeavor. But many times, engineers embark on a different journey to realize their potential in other creative fields. And one such engineer who broke the mould and dedicated himself to his true calling is Chandrabose- the lyricist of the Oscar-winning song, ‘Naatu Naatu!’

Realizing true potential

Kanukuntla Subhash Chandrabose pursued his Electrical and Electronics Engineering degree from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. But his love for music drove him to work as a singer in Doordarshan. This brief stint didn’t go down well for him and he finally switched to working as a lyricist. Rest is history.

In a career spanning over 25 years, he has written lyrics for about 3600 songs in over 850 films. Chandrabose's irresistibly catchy lyrics of the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ has earned him international acclaim. He has been honored with an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for his contribution. As a lyricist, Chandrabose has also been recognized with two Nandi Awards, two Filmfare Awards, and three SIIMA Awards.

Chandrabose is an inspiration to millions of people who want to pursue their hidden passion. We’d say, go ahead, take the plunge! And if engineering is your true calling, Unstop is by your side.
