EYQ 2017- The Most Popular Business Quiz

Ernst & Young (known as EY) headquartered in London, England is a multinational professional services firm. Over the years EY has become one of the "Big Four" accounting firms in the world. In 2017, Fortune magazine ranked EY 29th on the 100 Best Companies to Work For List. EY was the 11th largest privately owned organization in the United States in 2016.

While the other corporate and non-corporate big brands are engaged in many student engagement initiatives in the form of Case studies, B-plans, etc, EY has taken resort in conducting Business Quiz since 2012. In the year 2017, EYQ (Ernst & Young Quiz) entered its 6th year which was organised on the Dare2Compete.

This Quiz was open to all 1st and 2nd-year students across all B-schools in India. Only two members per team from the same institute were permitted to register for the Quiz. The Quiz was divided into three different stages- First Prelim round, Second Prelim round and the Grand Finale. This quiz has been the most popular competition amongst the B-school students with 13923 registrations.

On 28th Jul’17, the registered teams played the First Prelim Round online and the shortlisted teams got an opportunity to play the Second Prelim Round which was held online on 4th Aug’17. This was an audio-visual round wherein the whole team was to be present in front of the laptop/desktop and play the Quiz. The finalists from this round were asked to report at National Cooperative Union of India Auditorium, New Delhi on 25 Aug’17 where the Quiz Master Mr Avinash Mudaliar, presided over the Quiz. The 8 finalist teams competed against each other and at the end of the day by judging the extent of their general awareness and business acumen, the team consisting of Ankit Jetwani and Aniruddha Gangopadhyay from XLRI, Jamshedpur was declared the winner. The team from Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay became the first runner-up and the team from Indian School of Business grabbed the second runner-up position. All the winners received trophy plus goodies along with that a cash prize of 1 lakh rupees was given to the winners and a cash prize of 50k and 25k was bestowed to the first and second runner-up teams respectively.

EYQ 2017 ranked 5th in the Most Prestigious B-School Competitions of the Year 2018 as part of Dare2Compete Awards based on 3600+ student responses from across all B-Schools.
