Flipkart WiRED Campus Case Challenge 2018
Running E-commerce successfully can be challenging especially when there is an excess of more than one capable player in the market and Flipkart WiRED 2018 was launched with an aim to root out the business challenges with the help of the innovative solutions that WiRED 2018 would generate.
Flipkart WiRED 2018 was open to all the full-time students of the pre-final and final year students of the flagship programs of the following management institutes:
- Veterans: IIM-A, IIM-B, IIM-C, IIM-L, XLRI, FMS, SP Jain Mumbai
- New Entrants: MDI, IIFT-Delhi, MICA, IIM-Kozhikode
Both 1st and 2nd-year post-graduate students had to form teams of a maximum of 3 members within their batch and register on WiRED 2018 site.
Rounds
All participating teams had to work on a live Flipkart case challenge. And the solution provided by the respective teams was evaluated during the first two rounds.
The Campus Round
Prior to the Campus finale, all entries from various campus teams were evaluated and only the best 3 teams were elevated to be a part of the campus selection.
The top 3 teams from each campus then had to present their case to the Flipkart panelists and the Campus winners got an opportunity to represent their respective campuses in the national finale. The winners would also receive a call for PPIs to be conducted on campus.
The National Round
Total of seven teams ( 5 from Veterans & 2 from New Entrants) got an opportunity to be a part of the National Finale. Additional complexity was added to the existing case for the finale. View the Case Study here.
Flipkart WiRED 2018 intended to evaluate whether your proposition can possibly be of a distinct advantage in the online business industry. The jury evaluated case solutions on four key parameters. These are likewise the four key parameters that Flipkart uses to assess product launches, processes and innovations for the e-commerce ecosystem.

Teams had to make the Final round presentation to the Flipkart leadership team and after a thorough evaluation, the winners of Flipkart WiRED 2018 were declared.
Winners and Prizes
Team Sikarios consisting of Arindam Chugh, Gaurav Agrawal, Siddhartha Kumarapu from IIM Calcutta was declared as the winner of Flipkart WiRED Campus Case Challenge 2018 on 20 Sep. The winning team was awarded 200,000 INR. Internship Offers were announced for PG-1 and PPO results were declared for PG-2.
Campus Winners received Prizes worth 75,000 INR along with PPI to all team members and Campus Runners Up was awarded Prizes worth 30,000 INR with a call for PPIs.
