In an effort to encourage education for girls, the Madhya Pradesh state government has made some big announcements under the Laadli Laxmi Yojana.

Speaking at a special event held at the Lal Parade ground in Bhopal, CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan announced that the government will pay the entire course fee for girls who qualify for IITs, IIMs or medical courses.

Additionally, all girls from MP who have passed class 12th and took admission in a college will be given INR 25,000 in two separate installments. Free coaching will also be provided to UPSC, IIT and IIM aspirants. Financially weaker students will also get assistance from the State Government regarding higher education overseas.

Laadli Laxmi scheme was launched by the MP government from 1st April 2007 in order to fulfill the responsibility of the girl child from their birth to to marriage. The recent round of benefits were announced after 42 lakh girls registered for the Ladli Laxmi Scheme till April 2022.

CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan was speaking at an event called Ladli Laxmi Utsav where he claimed that the sex ratio of girls in the state has gone up to 956 in recent times - an achievement he attributed to the miracle of the scheme.

At the same time, CM Chauhan said that the government has created an app called Laadli e-Samvad through which girls of the state can communicate with him directly. He believes that the scheme will change the lives of daughters in MP.
