We all at some point have hoped to run a magic lamp, have a genie pop out asking for a wish to be fulfilled! Godrej LOUD 2018 was my magic lamp! Godrej LOUD is a competition in which you present your dream and Godrej helps you fulfill it. So, when I got to know that I am one of the National Finalists, I felt close to my dream. It was a truly jubilant moment.

I participated in this competition because of the fact that I will get to fulfill my dream. Also, it was the first corporate competition of my MBA journey and hence, I was much more intrigued and wanted to learn how to step into and move ahead in these big competitions.

I started preparing for this competition by talking to my seniors who had participated in the competition in the previous year and they helped a lot to understand how to go about it. Then, I saw videos of last year winners and tried to analyze what all parameters to consider and what dimensions can your idea take.

Since this was an individual competition, the most challenging part was to overcome my own fears. As it was my first competition, I was running low on confidence. I was really nervous to present my ideas in front of such a huge crowd and the CEO of Godrej. But then, my friends supported me a lot and with their help, I was able to perform well.

There were around 1300 participants from top B-Schools in the first round out of which only 13 moved to the national finals. Everyone was really good with their ideas and it was a tough competition. I got to learn a lot from all my competitors.

The arrangement was really great. They provided us with everything and they even helped us through the mock presentation. I think the judgement was fair. It was a good experience and I garnered a lot of learning out of it.

When I presented my dream in front of the audience, they really liked it and supported me with cheers. That was a time when I felt that it doesn’t matter if I win or lose, I will definitely fulfill my dream and that feeling will always be special for me.
