We worked hard to put our best foot forward. That was the primary goal for us. We never really focused on the winning aspect of this competition. But when they announced our names as the winners of Hero Campus Challenge Season 4, we couldn’t contain our excitement. It felt like a dream come true. I was excited and happy for making my parents proud. I can only describe that as the ‘Best feeling in the world’.
We always wanted to be a part of Hero MotoCorp. When we got to know that Hero MotoCorp is organizing Hero Campus Challenge Season 4, we knew we won’t be getting a better opportunity to interact with leaders of the industry. We registered immediately and after that, there was no looking back.
Our main focus was on the problem statement provided by the company. We tried to cover each and every aspect of the statement inspecting it from every possible perspective and we came up with an idea. Initially, we started with brainstorming on different ideas, which were new. After getting an overview of what should be our major focus area e.g, renewable sources, we tried to find an idea which will be useful to the company and can be implemented by them. We tried our level best to make our idea more feasible for the company.
For me, working in a team was the most important and memorable part. It helped me understand the importance of teamwork and unity. When two stones are rubbed against each other, there is always a spark no matter how small it may be. Similarly, we faced a lot of conflicts in the initial stages as we were from different branches but after working as a team, we turned these differences into our key advantage.
I am really grateful that we could work in a synergy that one seeks in a team. Ankush being an amazing mechanical engineer helped us convert our imaginary ideas into feasible ideas. With his designing knowledge, we were able to achieve the best result. Sonam being a civil engineer and an excellent orator gave us the confidence to showcase our idea in the best way possible. And the Hero of our team would be Shailesh Ashar sir, without whom getting to an industry level presentation would not have been a reality. He not only took our presentation to the next level but also encouraged us to have faith in our idea and work for it.
There were total 10 teams in the finale- Top 5 for MBA and top 5 for the Engineering track. Both tracks were evaluated separately. All teams presented their brilliant ideas in a professional manner. The judges were proficient and they focused on the problem statement and its solution. This competition is a life lesson for me. It not only taught me how to work in a team but also to have fun while learning which I believe is the most important part. The moments that I will always cherish would be ones from our Amer Fort visit where we ate together as a family, enjoyed as a family, and learned as a family.
