Hitting the Bull's Eye: Team AAAchievers | National Winners of Philips Code to Care Challenge

Bagging the title of the National Winners of Philips Code to Care Challenge was a dream come true for us. Our strategy was to come up with a solution which aligns with the motto of Philips, has a broad impact over the society and can influence people’s lives. The main challenge was to come up with a unique idea to work on.

We brainstormed for around a week, immediately after which another problem arose: to find the dataset to work on. There were 10 teams that made it to the finale. All of them were great but team A’s idea, from SPPU - Pune, was unique which they delivered with a really nice presentation.

The journey of our competition was filled with fun along with hard work. Batchmates for a period of three years now, the three of us are in the final year of Computer Science. We had been doing projects together since the past three years, so, our bonding was already very strong. We enjoyed every moment of our preparation. Our team rarely had conflicts and if one did occur, we chose to discuss and resolve the issue then and there.

Philips organized a lot of events during the course of the Grand Finale which included lab visits of the PIC campus and discussion with the head architects at Philips. Getting an insight into the workings of big healthcare innovation companies like Philips was in all a great learning experience. Philips along with Unstop (formerly Dare2Compete)left no stones unturned in making the competition a huge success. The competition was conducted smoothly, without glitches.

The special moment, which is quite obvious, was the moment when the results were announced. All our efforts and hard work finally bore fruit when we were declared the National Winners of Philips Code to Care Challenge.

The judgement was fair and was primarily based on grounds of the quality of idea and presentation skills. The Innovation Centre of Philips clearly reflects how much it focuses on bringing a change in people's lives. Philips’ record of holding the maximum patents is clearly evident in the change they’ve brought to the society.

Where Avani is popular as the Gifted Geek, Amul is the Innovator of the group and Ashutosh is famous as the Hard-Coder.
