From the very beginning, I had a passion to work hard for the society and be a harbinger of change. When I heard about a chance to do an internship at KS-NRO, there was nothing that could stop me. Days went by perfecting my CV and finally when I got the selection call, I was on cloud nine. I knew that I was headed in the right direction.

What is the selection process for doing an internship at KS-NRO?

The selection process for doing an internship at KS-NRO consisted of the following three rounds:

  1. Statement of Purpose Evaluation
  2. CV Shortlisting
  3. Personal Interview

Sailing through all the rounds of the selection process of the KS-NRO was not that difficult. Anyone with a genuine interest in Social Work and Rural Management had a fair chance of getting selected for this internship.

What was my role during the course of my internship at KS-NRO?

My role during the course of my internship at KS-NRO was related to Digital Marketing, E-Commerce, Supply Chain Management, and Operations Management. Working in this domain was relatively new for me. This new experience allowed me to push my boundaries and redefine my limits. This was quite a dynamic role and turned out to be one of my major learning experiences.

What did I learn from my internship?

Given the extent of my role at KS-NRO, I got a fair chance to work on my hard and soft skills. Various areas that I could work on were Digital Marketing for Revenue Generation, Supply Chain Solutions and E-Commerce systems. Handling difficult situations with a smile, spending adequate time planning an event, and understanding cross-domain functionalities were some of the soft skills that I could work on.

What is the work culture at KS-NRO?

My internship at KS-NRO was unique in the sense that it gave me a wonderful opportunity to stay in three districts: Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Thiruvananthapuram. It not only allowed me to have a taste of three different cities but also made me independent as an individual. Our first outing was to Kovalam, Kerala. It was an amazing experience and I made memories to cherish forever.

Given a chance, I would grab the opportunity to work with KS-NRO in the blink of an eye. The organization allows the employees to have full ownership of the project and choose their own work methodology. This, in turn, provides immense scope for personal growth and self-development. My love for social work makes KS-NRO even more desirable to work at.

What did I learn from my mentor during the course of my internship?

My mentor provided me constant guidance and support during the course of my internship at KS-NRO. Right from understanding the organization’s structure to field level problems to supply chain solutions, there were a lot of things that I could gain from him. In addition to this, meeting the managers of warehousing corporations always came packed with heavy insights.

In a nutshell, doing an internship at KS-NRO was one of the best experiences of my life. It gave me friends and connections for a lifetime. This is one of the most memorable experiences that is going to cling to my memory forever.
