The selection process for doing a summer internship at MakeMyTrip turned out to be a bit different for me than others. I had applied for this internship via an external channel. This led to a Personal Interview call and I was finally selected to do an internship at MakeMyTrip.
What was my role during my summer internship?
The project during my summer internship at MakeMyTrip revolved around B2B Sales and Marketing of their corporate product MyBiz. The extent of my role during my summer internship at MakeMyTrip made me step out of my comfort zone. I had to innovate new ideas for Sales and Marketing on a daily basis. Initially, this seemed to be an uphill task, but slowly I started enjoying the process. Overall, my internship at MakeMyTrip was a well-rounded experience.
What did I learn during my internship?
Given the domain of my role, I got a chance to work on my soft skills. My Networking skills, Communication prowess, and confidence were boosted during the course of my internship. Doing a summer internship at MakeMyTrip tuned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. I got a lot of practical exposure in the domain of my interest.
What is the work culture at MakeMyTrip?
To attend my internship, I had to move to Delhi. It was a fun experience as I was well aware of this place. Thus, adjusting was not at all a problem. There was no official team outing as such but bonding with fellow interns during free hours was always an enriching experience. We interacted, laughed, learned and grew together.

What did I learn from my mentor during my summer internship?
My mentor was my constant companion during the course of my internship. He sold his ideas and insights to me in a subtle way which I realized later. He taught me how to become corporate ready and develop advanced skills according to the upcoming industry requirements. His main emphasis was to make me a young professional, ready to enter the corporate world and he was indeed successful in this objective.
In a nutshell, doing a summer internship at MakeMyTrip was an experience of a lifetime. It provided enough room for my professional as well as personal growth. What I have gauged from this experience is the fact that there is a vast difference in the theoretical and practical world. If you wish to bridge this gap, do not hesitate to step out of your comfort zone and face real-world challenges.
