Cluster 2 of IIM Ahmedabad placements was conducted on Friday for the PGP class of 2021. IIM Ahmedabad follows a cluster system of final placements process where sectors are invited in cohorts at regular intervals. The firms that participated in Cluster 1 final placements at IIM Ahmedabad comprised six cohorts that were Advertising & Media, Consumer Goods, Consumer Services, Consumer Electronics, General Management and Retail B2B & B2C. The entire placement process is being conducted in the virtual mode this year keeping into consideration the coronavirus pandemic situation.
Placement schedule 2021
The schedule for placements at IIM Ahmedabad this year is as follows:
- Cluster 1: 2nd March 2021
- Cluster 2: 5th March 2021
- Cluster 3: 8th March 2021
IIM Ahmedabad follows a cluster system for the final placements process where sectors are invited in cohorts at regular intervals, which then follows a rolling process post Cluster 3, if necessary. The final placement process for the PGP-FABM class of 2021 at IIM Ahmedabad is scheduled for 5th March 2021. Again the Institute will follow a rolling process post that, if necessary.

Cluster 2 witness the highest number of offers
The highest number of offers in cluster 2 of IIM-A placements 2021 were made by Consumer Goods firms followed by General Management and Leadership firms. Roles of different domains were offered across geographies (including the United Arab Emirates).

Cluster 1 highlights
Boston Consulting Group (BCG) made the highest number of job offers at IIM Ahmedabad Cluster 1 final placements for the PGP class of 2021 followed by McKinsey. The two companies made 32 and 30 job offers respectively making them the key recruiters in Cluster 1. The firms that participated in Cluster 1 final placements at IIM Ahmedabad comprised four cohorts that were: Investment Banking and markets, Management consulting, Advisory consulting and private equity, Venture capital, and management consulting.
IIM Ahmedabad final placements 2020 highlights
In 2020, 153 firms had participated with 182 different roles in the placement process of IIM Ahmedabad. In the final placements, firms that made the most offers on-campus included Mckinsey, Boston Consulting Group, and Tata Consultancy Services. McKinsey made the most offers (including Pre-Placement Offers) at the end of the final placement process with 27 offers, followed by Boston Consulting Group with 23 offers. In the Niche Consulting cohort, Mastercard extended 11 offers. Among the investment banks, Avendus was the largest recruiter, making 10 offers, closely followed by JP Morgan with 8 offers. In 2020, the Private Equity, Venture Capital and Asset Management domain recorded an 80% increase in participating firms as compared to last year(2019) including Matrix Partners and SAW Partners.
