IIM Bangalore Summer Placements 2024: 539 Offers, Max Recruitment In Management Consulting

IIM Bangalore released its Placement Report 2023 which included information about the final placements for the PGP & PGPBA 2021-23 batch, along with information about the Summer Placements for PGP & PGPBA 2022-24 batch. As per the report, 539 offers were made for summer placements. 

IIM Bangalore is one of the elite management colleges in India. As per the NIRF 2023 Rankings, IIM Bangalore ranked in the second position for MBA colleges. It has retained this position since 2020. IIM Bangalore boasts of a renowned faculty and has consistently produced students who’ve gone on to make a mark in the world of business. 

Recently, Prof. Nilam Kaushik—the first female Professor of Strategy at IIM B—was named among the ‘Poets and Quants Best 40 under 40 MBA Professors 2023’. As per IIM B, this is the first time a faculty member from an Indian business/management school has been featured in the rating.

IIM Bangalore also shared the sector-wise breakup for the Summer Placements 2024, and the highest recruitment was in management consulting. Interestingly, even for the Final Placements 2023, the highest recruitment was in management consulting (40%).

IIM B Final Placements 2021-23: Overview

As per the IIM B Placement Report 2023, the PGP & PGPBA 2021-23 batch of 512 students collectively received 606 offers from 164 companies. The average salary package offered was INR 35.31 lakh per annum - an increase of 4.4% from last year. 

Some of the top recruiters for the final placements included the Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, Tata Consultancy Services, American Express, Microsoft, and others. As per the sector-wise breakup, the highest recruitment was in management consulting (40%), followed by IT/Product Management (14%) and General Management (13%). The lowest recruitment was in Operations (2%).
