IIT Hyderabad Offers M.Sc. In Medical Physics- Hurry Before Its Too Late, Apply Now!

IIT Hyderabad is one of the second-generation IITs established by the Ministry of Education in 2008. The institution is one of the top ten engineering colleges in the country. It offers B.Tech. and M.Tech degrees in 10 engineering disciplines, along with B.Des., M.Des. and M.Sc. degrees. In its latest offering, IIT Hyderabad has launched a 3-year M.Sc. program in Medical Physics. This unique course aims at training students in applying the principles of physics in medicine.

The institution has teamed up with the Basava Tarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACH&RI) for this program. Read on to know details about the program and its application process.

About M.Sc. Medical Physics Program

The purpose of this program is to provide students with specialist training to help them become world-class medical physicists. Students will learn the concepts of physics relevant to medicinal sciences, and also how to apply these concepts to practice. To fulfill its purpose, the program will look to offer clinical lectures, clinical immersion and shadowing, short-term industry projects, and a 12-month clinical internship for the 3rd year. The program calls for students to complete 90 credits in total across three years accruing to coursework and clinical internship. But note that the internship will start only after successful completion of the coursework. Students undergoing this program will not only attain a strong academic foothold in medical physics but also get hands-on training, making them industry ready.
