Following in the footsteps of IIT Madras and IIT Delhi, which have already set up their international branches – IIT Zanzibar and IIT Abu Dhabi – it's now time for IIT Kharagpur to take the stage and drop a major bombshell.

In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, IIT Kharagpur has decided to launch an MBBS degree course. Yep, you heard that right – the tech wizards are stepping into the world of medicine!

At a press conference that probably left everyone's jaws on the floor, VK Tewari, the director of IIT Kharagpur, spilled the beans. They've not only revamped their undergraduate and postgraduate courses to be all NEP 2020-compliant, but they've also been dabbling in some serious multidisciplinary research, covering science, tech, management, and law.
