Industry Research Analysis by FinShiksha
What is the difference between a bookworm and an achiever? Some might both are complimentary but this is quite not true, as one can find mostly the not so serious pupils in the class become overachievers, how? It is the practical experience which steals the show.

Corporate competitions also achieve this by introducing students into the world of practice and make them service ready. Industry Research Analysis by FinShiksha also wants the new joiners of the management program to help them gain an experience in the domain of Finance.

The two-fold benefits of this competition-

  1. This was a unique and powerful experience that tested their ability to evaluate real-world industry and problems within the same. The evaluation was done by experienced people from the Industry. This acted as a sort of live project.

  2. Insights could be used in a summer internship project as one can choose the sector in which one is pursuing a job/internship.

Industry Research Analysis 2017 was open to all individuals and was hosted on Dare2Compete. This was a one-round competition where participants had to send their research findings in an MS-Powerpoint format on or before 16th May 2017.

Participants had the privilege to expand their knowledge base by selecting one sector on the list.

Industry to choose from:

  • Power Sector

  • Speciality Chemical Sector

  • Insurance Sector

  • Non-Ferrous Metals Sector

  • Logistics Sector

  • Airline Industry

  • Hotels Industry

  • The depth of Research Analysis

    • Example: If the Telecom Industry is growing by 15%, then in our opinion, this is just an observation and not analysis. You should focus on what are the factors which will drive this Industry to grow at me percentage if any. Or factors which will drive that it will grow at a lesser or higher percentage.

Parth Aggarwal from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Pune was declared as the winner followed by Nitesh Bathwal from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow as the first runner-up and Mithun P V from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Udaipur as the second runner-up.
