JEE Advanced i.e. the Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced is one of the most important academic examinations for aspiring engineering students. The JEE Advanced 2023 examination is scheduled to take place on June 04 and the results will be declared on June 18, 2023. 

The marks scored in JEE Advanced are crucial to securing admission into the IITs and other engineering colleges and universities in India, like the Marine Engineering and Research Institute, Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE), the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISERs), etc.

Here’s a look at last year’s cutoffs for mechanical, civil, computer science & chemical engineering for IIT Madras. Aspiring engineering students can consider these scores as a benchmark or target for this year’s examination:

JEE Advanced 2023: IIT Madras Cutoff

IIT Madras is one of the seven zonal IITs in India. It offers courses in civil, mechanical & chemical engineering, as well as in computer science among others. Here’s a look at last year’s closing ranks for JEE Advanced for the various courses:

CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) is one of the most competitive engineering courses and naturally had the highest cutoff last year, at 175. This was 163 and 158 in 2021 and 2020, respectively. On the other hand, the biological sciences 5-year dual degree had the lowest JEE Advanced 2022 cutoff for IIT Madras. It was 11452. 

Apart from JEE Advanced, engineering students also undertake the JEE Mains examination. The results for JEE-Main 2023 were released on April 28.
