Journey of a National Finalist- Asian Paints CANVAS 2018

Marketing cases are fun to solve and Asian Paints CANVAS 2018 was one such competition that challenged the students to come up with an innovative strategy for a live business challenge faced by the organization. We were proud to be a part of this competition and by being one of the finalists.
It took us 3 weeks to prepare for the campus presentation using primary and secondary research. Through this, we then brainstormed some solutions and analyzed them on feasibility and implementation. Finally, we had presented our case to the panel of jury and to our amazement, they had given a thumbs up to our recommendations and declared us the National Finalists.
It was amazing to be a part of the team. Three of us were perfect for the case with each contributing their strengths for the team win. Yes, we did have conflicts but they helped us in constructing our solution even better. We were pretty committed to our primary research and this helped us to understand the central idea and we had built our solution using insights obtained during the research.
It was a tough fight as all the 10 teams were equally competitive and it was nice to be a part of Asian Paint CANVAS 2018. On the day of the finale, we presented our case solution in front of the senior leaders of Asian Paints, which in itself was a big achievement. The competition was organized in a nice way and the judgement was apt.
Even though the Asian Paints CANVAS 2018 crown was claimed by another team, we feel satisfied for having taken part in such a big event and had been able to fight till the last. This competition has been full of learning in many ways, we were able to develop a greater understanding of how problems are solved. The ideas that were generated through this case study competition would definitely help us in our future.
