Journey of Achievement- Aditya Birla Group Stratos 2018

It was a great achievement for being declared as one of the National finalists for Aditya Birla Group’s Stratos 2018. It was wonderful to know that all the hard work we had put in the competition had paid off.

The primary reason for me and my team to participate in the competition was because the Aditya Birla Group was organizing the event. And also that winning the event provides us with an opportunity for a PPI with the company. Apart from that, the business simulation game in the competition is a renowned one, and by participating in this, we wanted to test our skills that we have garnered while studying MBA and otherwise.

The first round was centred around Business Simulation, we did not have anything to prepare beforehand as one has to make decisions on issues or problem statement that is given during the course of the game. One has to be cautious while making decisions so as to not disrupt the framework of the game while keeping the end goal in the mind.

We successfully passed through this test, however, the real challenge was unfurled to us in the form of a case study based on a Live Business challenge. We were glued to it to find a trailblazing idea and propose it as a solution. Even though our academic schedules were hectic, we tried to give our best shot.

Being a part of a team, differences do arise, however, all the team members shared a very good bond and we meted out our differences. Skills of each member complemented with each other and we all had put forward our best endeavor. We did not only take this challenge for winning it but as an opportunity to help us learn more about Aditya Birla Group and the way businesses are conducted.

Finally, we were flown for the grand finale to Mumbai. All the other participating teams were also present. Since all of them came from premier B-schools who had been champions in their own campuses and made it to finals, were all formidable, I cannot pinpoint one as our toughest competitor.

The finale was a great learning experience for all of us. It not only provided us with an opportunity to present our ideas in front of a highly experienced, knowledgeable management of ABG but also allowed us to interact with them and get their viewpoint on how company management wishes to go forward. All of the three judges were extremely transparent in their judgement criteria, and completely objective while evaluating every idea. Management throughout the competition was wonderful.

It was a moment of great achievement of getting to participate in a competition which is held in such high esteem.

Each corporate organized competition is unique in its own way. From structure to judging criteria. Read more about Aditya Birla Group's Stratos 2018 and the organizers Aditya Birla Group. Other competitions organized by Aditya Birla Group; Aditya Birla Group’s HeadstaRt
