Pratyush SIMS Pune talks about bagging a job at ICICI Bank
The day I joined PGDM program at Symbiosis, I was crystal clear about building my career in sales. When I heard about the participation of ICICI Bank in the final placement process, I knew this was the place where I belong. Being a BFSI sector giant, career growth and work culture are remarkable there. So, I decided to walk that extra mile to get a job at ICICI Bank. Back of my mind, I knew that if I got placed, I will paint the town red but if not, I will still retain a positive attitude and get ready for the next opportunity. It is very necessary to balance this competitive streak.
The Selection Process for ICICI Bank:
Since I already did an internship with HDFC Bank, I had a rough idea about the requirements of the recruiting committee. So I focused on the projects done during the internship and gathered all the information about the company to give my 100 percent to get a job at ICICI Bank.
The selection process involved 3 main stages:
1) Online Personality Profiling
2) Group Discussion
3) Personal Interview
Online Personality Profiling
The personality profiling uses the Occupational Personality Questionnaire. It is a tool that helps to determine an applicant's competencies, personality preferences and behavioral style at work. The test has a multiple-choice format having 4 statements - out of which one must select a statement that resembles them the most and another one that resembles one the least. Attempting this was fairly simple and straightforward. I was clear in my mind which helped my comprehension.
Group Discussion
Just like any other GD, we were divided into groups and given a topic. When everyone was charged and excited to call out their points as early as possible, I remembered to be a good listener. I jotted down my points and soaked what others have to offer. With around 5 chances to deliver my thoughts and facts, I made crisp and precise statements to give a neat impression to the invigilators.
Personal Interview
Since it was the final round of the recruitment process, they left no stone unturned with respect to knowing their future team members. It was a 20-minute long interview, where they primarily asked about my internship experience and how I handled the project apart from some basic questions. I tried my best to show them why I am the best fit for the job at hand. Overall, it was a nice and interactive interview.
