Getting job offers from top global firms is a dream for any college graduate. But Bisakh Mondal has transformed this dream into reality by bagging a whooper salary package of INR 1.8 crore from Facebook! That’s not all. He had job offers from Amazon and Google as well! Read the story of this wonder boy from Bengal's Birbhum district.
When struggle ends with success
Student of Jadavpur University, Bisakh Mondal belongs to a modest Bengali family. His father is a farmer while his mother works as an Anganwadi worker. The couple struggled for years to provide whatever they could for their son. And he has eventually made them proud. Commenting on his success, his mother said, "It is a matter of great pride for us. He was always serious about his studies. After scoring good marks in higher secondary exams as well as JEE, he got admitted to Jadavpur University."
It must have been a tough call for Mondal to choose between Amazon, Facebook and Google! But it was Facebook’s pay package that made this wonder boy decide to move to the social networking giant’s London office. Bisakh Mondal is all set to join his new job in September this year.
Internships helped to crack interviews
In today’s world, companies weigh skills over anything else. And what could be better than internships to unskill oneself? For Bisakh Mondal internships helped him learn something outside his curriculum. In an interview given to the Indian Express he said, “In the past two years during the Covid-19 pandemic, I got the opportunity to do internships at several organizations and gather knowledge outside my curriculum studies. This has helped me crack the interviews."
