The Union Public Service Commission’s Civil Service Examination (UPSC-CSE) is considered to be one of the toughest exams in India. Every year, hundreds of thousands of students appear for the UPSC Examinations, with only a few being able to achieve their dream.
Compared to other professionals, IAS officers are in a completely different league. They are individuals with skills in administration and vast knowledge of the various cultures and constitutional rules and laws of India. But unlike other jobs where the 'CTC' of the job profile is clearly spelled out, the salary of these top-notch government servants is unknown to many of us.
The salary of IAS officers is way less than what the top professionals get paid in private companies. However, it is the nature of their work and the power and responsibilities they have that make this job one of the most sought-after ones. This article has been curated to give UPSC aspirants an insight into the facilities and perks granted to IAS Officers. Let's know the details.

Should Salary Be The Only Motive Of IAS Aspirants?
Aspirants must keep in mind one important thing: the pay scale of an IAS officer should not be their only criterion to join the Indian Administrative Services. Being an IAS is a golden opportunity to serve the nation through proper administration. It is a job that requires constant effort, smart wit, and intelligence, the reason only a few aspirants make it to the top levels of the UPSC CSE. Hence, the chief motivation of an IAS aspirant should be the desire to work for the country and make a positive impact on the lives of common people.
