On 24th May, the curtains of the much-awaited grand finale of Masters' Union Emerging Business Leaders 2020 were drawn, marking the end of the competition. Due to the unexpected mayhem wreaked by the ongoing pandemic, the finale of MUEBL was conducted virtually, allowing the participants to present their big idea in front of an esteemed panel of judges.
Open to undergraduate students to test their business acumen, the competition also accepted registrations from working professionals with up to 3 years of experience in the industry.
The competition that kick-started on 7th March, earlier this year, was divided into three stages. Merging the domains of management, finance and entrepreneurship, Emerging Business Leaders provided young talents a platform to showcase their mettle through that one revolutionary idea that has the power to turn the tables.
MUEBL started with two online simulation rounds, scheduled between 27th March and 13th April, participants had to step in the shoes of a real-world entrepreneur to rely on their wits to concoct and process data as well as different scenarios in order to make crucial business decisions. The top teams selected on grounds of their performance in each of the above-mentioned rounds were then required to submit a 3-minute video pitch of their Big Idea by 22nd April.
This unprecedented journey that witnessed numerous twists and turns, came to a glorious end on 24th May, where the top teams got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pitch their unique ideas to the leaders of the country. However, the finale which was supposed to be a live event was executed virtually owing to the current circumstances of the country.
The 3-minute pitch videos of the top 10 finalists were played during the Grand Finale. The jury then shared their feedback on each of the presented ideas. In a major turn of events, the audience also played a part in the selection of the Winner, where they got a chance to rate each video on a scale of 1 to 5. The Jury’s scores together with the audience rating determined the final winners of the competition.
Out of the 10,829 teams that registered for the Masters' Union Emerging Business Leaders 2020, only 10 reached the grand finale. Team Finatics, comprising Pritish Bhatt from Edelweiss Group and Arnav Deshmukh from ISRO was declared as the National Winners.
