Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon has successfully concluded its summer placement process for its 2023 PGDM batch. With a total of 86 companies offering different roles to 359 candidates, the highest stipend offered stood at Rs. 4 lakh for two months. Witnessing a marginal dip of 0.83%, the average stipend fell to Rs. 2.4 lakh for the same period. The top 10% of the batch garnered a handsome median stipend of 3.3 lakh for two months.

MDI witnesses a wide gamut of firms hiring for a myriad of roles across various business domains. This year also saw a good mix of traditional recruiters and start-ups that hired in big numbers.

As many as 23 new recruiters including big firms like Godrej Housing Finance, Indegene, Intel Corporation, PepsiCo, PUMA, Everest Industries, FinIQ Consulting, etc. hired a good chunk of the MDI talent pool.
MDI Gurgaon Summer Placements
Recruiters at MDI offered a myriad of roles in domains such as Consulting, Sales & Marketing, BFSI, IT, etc. This year, Sales & Marketing remained the most sought-after domain by amassing 27% of the total offers made. Human resources gave fierce competition to S&M but missed by a minuscule 1% margin, garnering a share of 26%. These two were followed by the Strategy(21%) and Finance(13%) domains which also gathered a significant share of the offers.

1. FMCG
Many corporate world giants such as Asian Paints, Dabur, L'Oréal, MARS India, Marico, Pepsico, etc offered roles in domains such as Sales and Marketing, Corporate, Business Development, Strategy, Operations and HR.
2. Consulting and General Management
Consulting giants such as McKinsey & Co, PwC India, Deloitte India, EY, etc offered roles in Business, IT and HR consulting. Aditya Birla Group, Adani Group, Amazon, Axis Bank,etc. Hired in huge numbers for the general management and strategy roles.
3. Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals
In the pandemic scenario, the Healthcare sector also attracted many firms hiring mainly for Sales & Marketing, Corporate HR and Operations. The booming sector saw participation from firms like Cipla, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, GSK Pharmaceuticals, Indegene, Novozymes, etc.
4. IT and Telecommunications
The ever-rising technology sector again saw many recruiters hiring for a wide array of roles in E-Commerce, Media, Conglomerates, etc. Tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, etc. hired in good numbers. E-commerce juggernauts like Amazon and Flipkart along with firms like BYJU’s, Udaan, WhiteHat Jr, etc. also had their piece of the pie.
With the recovery after the second wave, MDI too witnessed a successful summer placement process. With the healthy juxtaposition of established and new firms and the median stipend witnessing a significant increase, the placement reports conspicuously demonstrate the growth of the ManDevIans.
