Coders Assemble! Register For India’s First Mentoring Program With INR 1 Lakh Stipend & PPI/PPO

What’s the code for a better future? It’s still being written. But aspiring coders, you could play a role in drafting it with Code for GovTech (C4GT) - India’s first dedicated mentoring program aimed at creating a community that can build and contribute to global Digital Public Goods (DPGs). 

C4GT is a two-month mentoring program launched by governance consulting firm Samagra and knowledge partners Alliance and Omidyar Network India. Samagra is a mission-driven consulting firm that has been working with senior political and bureaucratic leadership of states to solve governance problems at scale. It’s known for developing systemic transformation programs.

C4GT is a unique learning opportunity where participants will get to work on real-life problems, actively working to create solutions for population-scale governance challenges. The first edition of C4GT took place in 2022 with 13 contributors and 9 projects. Registrations for the current edition open in May. The program will last from June 25, 2023, to August 25, 2023.

Code for GovTech 2023: Competition Structure

C4GT is divided into two main rounds - submission and interview, interspersed with a webinar for aspiring contributors. Candidates can only register individually. 

To apply for the Code for GovTech (C4GT) program, candidates must review the various projects listed on the C4GT Github Page and complete the registration form on Unstop. 

Listed below are the details about the rounds: 

Round 1: Submission

You can submit up to three proposals; one is mandatory and the other two are optional. You can increase your chances of getting selected by submitting additional proposals. 

However, for every additional proposal submitted, ensure that the project chosen is different from the other submissions. 

All submissions should be made between May 15, 2023, to June 11, 2023. 

Submission guidelines: The proposal document for the submission needs to be based on the Proposal Guidelines and Sample Proposal Document. Candidates need to ensure that the proposal is comprehensive and detailed, demonstrating their understanding of the project's goals and objectives, and how they intend to contribute to its success.

Round 2: Interview

On the basis of the submissions, shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview

Please note: A 1-hour long C4GT webinar will be conducted on May 24, 2023, to explain the value proposition and application process, as well as answer any questions that aspiring contributors may have. 

Code for GovTech 2023: Eligibility Criteria

C4GT is open to students and working professionals who possess the requisite coding skills. It is open to anyone who is interested in software development and wants to contribute to open-source projects.
