MICAT 2020: How to apply, important dates and eligibility criteria

MICAT (MICA Admissions Test) is a mandatory exam to get admission into PGDM programs at MICA. It is conducted in two phases and their registrations are done separately. It is mandatory to appear for at least one of them and the marks scored in best of two are considered.

MICA is the dream destination for candidates aspiring for Strategic Marketing and Communication. It offers a wide range of certifications from two-year interdisciplinary PG diploma courses to certificate programmes in crafting creative communication of one year and various other online programmes in advertising management and public relations, digital marketing, media and entertainment management.

Online programmes cost students around Rs.1,25,000 while two-year postgraduate programmes cost around Rs. 20,00,000.

Eligibility criteria Of MICAT 2020 

• Candidates who have appeared for CAT2020/ XAT2021/ GMAT2020 are eligible for MICAT 2020.
• Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, from a university that is recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
• Foreign Nationals/ NRIs willing to apply for MICAT2020 need to have a valid GMAT score (600+).
• Candidates in their final year of bachelor's degree examinations are also eligible to apply.

Registration Process for MICAT 2020?

• Visit the official website.
• Click on the “Apply Online” link.
• Click on “New Registration For All Programmes”.
• Fill in the personal details.
• Note down the User ID and Password.
• Login with the ID and Password to fill the application form.
• Fill in the details and upload your picture in the desired size and format.
• Submit the form and pay the fees. The application fees of MICAT 2020 is INR 1950.

The total duration of MICAT 2020 is 165 minutes.

Selection process of MICAT 2020

• Section A of MICAT 2020 i.e., the psychometric test, is a qualifier.
• The marks of CAT/ XAT/ GMAT are considered for a basic minimum cut off for those who qualify the psychometric section.
• Qualified candidates are then assessed on the basis of following MICAT sections: Verbal ability (VA), Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QADI), General Awareness (GA), and Divergent and Convergent Thinking (DCT).
• Descriptive Tests of the qualifying candidates are then evaluated.
• Shortlist is prepared on the basis of MICAT-I/ MICAT-II, whichever has a higher score if the candidate has appeared for both.
• Approximately 1/10th of the total number of candidates will be shortlisted for GE & PI round based on their total scaled score MICAT 2020.
• After GE & PI, the candidate is offered admission as per their preference.
