My insights at Eureka Forbes as a management trainee -By Soumya Kanti Roy from JIM Noida
Before starting to narrate my management trainee experience at Eureka Forbes, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Patricia D’Lima, Subramanian Kannappan, Harshul Jain for their never-ending support and for guiding me through all my queries.
The first step as a Management Trainee at Eureka Forbes
For the year 2020, 7 MTs were selected across India and from various top B-Schools for the Management Trainee Program at Eureka Forbes Ltd. After being selected around January – February 2020, we were supposed to meet in Mumbai at the head office, during May. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic, our joining was delayed. But this did not lower our aspiration to join the organization as our HR was in constant touch, assuring that a revised date of joining would soon be announced.
Fast-forwarding to 5th August, we were virtually onboarded to our organization with all the top executives of EFL addressing us by sharing their invaluable experiences and educating us about Eureka Forbes' foundational values which are Caring, Trust, Respect and Sharing.
After the training
Post our one-week training, we were assigned to various departments where I was assigned with the TMO (transformation management office) team to work on various projects. So far, the projects that have been assigned to me are mainly related to operations which included aspects of the supply chain, service, CRM, etc.
One of my daily/weekly activities requires me to flash dashboard reports for some actionable insights for senior management. Apart from this, I was assigned work from the marketing domain, where I conducted qualitative surveys of our customers. Various other surveys were done to understand the challenges faced by our business partners, the service leaders as well as the technicians on the field.
Recent projects
Currently, I have been assigned a project related to a strategy where I’m analyzing past trends and will be coming up with plans that can be taken up shortly. This task was assigned as I was effectively able to communicate the role that interests me.
In another aspiration, I had communicated an initiative which if implemented, could lead to less loss of customers being duped of their money through third-party claiming to be Eureka Forbes and it would also inculcate a heightened sense of trust amongst the customers, for the organization. I was asked to take this initiative up and do a cost comparative study to find an effective solution provider.
My learnings at Eureka Forbes
These few different experiences are something I believe have empowered me and my fellow mates, to take up bigger roles and to lead projects shortly. I and another person were also asked to host the first online awards of Eureka Forbes which gave us greater visibility into the organization and boosted our confidence.
