Nestle 4Ps Challenger 2017- A Case Study Competition
Nestle's relationship with India dates back to 1912, when it began trading as The Nestle Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company (Export) Limited, importing and selling finished products in the Indian market. However, after India’s independence in 1947, Nestle established manufacturing units in Moga, Punjab to develop the milk economy of that area under the directive of the Govt. of India. Nestle has been a partner in India's growth for over a century now and has built a very special relationship of trust and commitment with the people of India.
Being such an old player in the Indian market Nestle as a brand has been witness to many changes in the Indian market which makes it more credible in order to learn something new and the secret of holding its position so strong in the India economy.
To share the knowledge of its growth, Nestle as a brand, and provide a sneak-peak view of its workstyle it had launched the 4Ps Challenger in the year 2012. Since this challenge is related to sales and marketing domain so the 4Ps are- Public, Price, Place and Promotion.
The entire competition had these 3 questions in its heart-
Do you have a marketer in you? Do you believe in the power of a brand? Do you think 'Sales' is difficult?
And the 4Ps Challenger 2017 aimed to seek fresh and revolutionising ideas from students for the beverages business of Nestle.
Nestle 4Ps Challenger 2017 was open to management students from select Business schools- IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, XLRI Jamshedpur, FMS Delhi and other top B-schools. View the complete details of the competition here.
The Nestle Case Study Competition was aimed at presenting challenging business scenarios to the young talents and engage them in an invigorating exercise to apply their knowledge, business acumen and creativity to live business problems.
The Challenge was held in two stages- Campus level and National Level. Teams consisting of 3 members across the participating campuses submitted their entries on the case in the campus round which was held in 2 phases. The case study revolved around coffee (Nescafe), a premium product of the Nestle which brings in a bulk of its revenue.
The teams which qualified both the phases in the campus round were invited to take part in the National final held at Nestle House in Gurgaon, Haryana.
After competing with the finalist teams from different campuses the team comprising of Saakshi Kothari, Pooja Mohta, Preet Mehta from SIBM, Pune was declared as the winner of Nestle 4Ps Challenger 2017 and the team from XLRI Jamshedpur consisting of Lakshay D Malkani, Arushi Saksena, Seep Singh made it to the runner-up position. The winners were invited for pre-placement interviews and got an opportunity to join Nestle India as Management Trainees under the campus hiring program.
