The format of PepsiCo Change the Game Competition Season 3 was very interesting. Also, the topic was something I could relate to and liked to work on. Even the rewards were very motivating. I was already placed by the time this competition came, so I had ample time to prepare. I participated and became one of the National Finalists and that was really a different feeling- one of achievement and pride.
We started our preparation with brainstorming, first separately and then together to come up with a common idea. The research to see if our idea was actually solving the problem and to validate its viability was the most time-consuming part.
PepsiCo had a really good way of forming teams for us. I actually had to work with someone I had never interacted with before but it worked out quite well. I think presentation skills was our main forte, both of us could make our idea look good and self-explanatory.
There were 10 national finalists fighting it out. The other team from our own college was our toughest competitor and they went ahead to win the international round. We got to learn that there is no need for perfect time or motivation if you invest yourself enough in something and really want to do it.
PepsiCo Change the Game Competitions Season 3 was perfect. I have participated in many competitions but this was by far the best. This experience was one with great learning and more than that, with a lot of exposure because we got to interact with the higher level management and even the CEO on a personal level. Presenting our idea in front of the CEO was the best moment for me.
