Post-COVID world: Change led by trends and intelligent deductions

Covid-19 started as a health crisis that affected every economy of the world. With the vaccine still under development, no one can actually state the time when things will be back to normal. So keeping the current situation in mind, it won't be wrong to say that the way we are leading our lives now will ultimately become the new normal. In the past few months, we have seen some major trends that are working towards forming a post-COVID world which will be completely different from the world we see today.

Since the priorities of people, as well as the organizations, have changed the working style is being redeveloped every second day to keep up with the changing trends and requirements. Let's understand these trends that are bound to play an important role in resharing the post COVID world.

No jam-packed places

Due to COVID-19, one of the major trends observed is that people are staying away from overcrowded places. In addition to this, they are even planning their day in such a way that they have to spend minimum time outside. So presently, the delivery and e-commerce businesses are booming as people are preferring online orders of groceries, food and other essentials and getting them delivered at their home instead of moving out to purchase these things. Those who are going out to purchase necessities are visiting the stores that contain everything in one place in order to save time.

Owing to these shift in consumer behaviour organisations are making amends to their strategies. Some organisation are diversifying their portfolio while others are looking at making amends to their supply chain to ensure that they meet the ever-changing demands.

The entire strategy of corporates to accommodate the maximum number of people to achieve the cost benefits and earn more profits needs to be redeveloped as the trend has changed. With exclusivity becoming the new king, it is an indication for the companies to change their business models.

Virtual world

COVID-19 opened the doors to the virtual world. At the start of the pandemic, most of the companies asked their employees to shift to work from home. This gave rise to a completely new form of working style wherein all the meetings were being held on virtual platforms like google meet, zoom call, skype, etc.

Many companies are even considering making this work from home a permanent thing for its employees in order to save costs. As per the news, TCS is planning to make work from home the new normal for its employees and is considering to change its business model. Even Google has allowed its employees to work from home. This is a symbol that the post-COVID business world will heavily rely on remote employees.

Rise of the gig economy

The post-COVID world will be ruled by the gig economy. Many people have either been shifted to work from home or they have been shelved by companies. Therefore, we can see that there is a movement towards the gig economy wherein companies will be preferring freelancers or part-time workers to get the work done instead of hiring full-time employees. This will enable companies to reduce their costs.

This trend has further encouraged people to work on their skills. Currently, the focus for the workforce is to be really well versed with their capabilities and try to enhance it every day in order to give themselves more options and to prepare them for the opportunities that lie ahead.

Health is wealth

The pandemic made every individual realize the importance of health. People are working towards building immunity and even leading a healthier lifestyle which was earlier being ignored by them. This shift has given an opportunity for the companies to come up with new products and services in the health, hygiene, and wellness sector.

This trend has even made countries all over the world, realize the importance of an efficient healthcare sector. The pandemic paved the way for countries to improve their healthcare by improving their resources and capabilities which will benefit the countries in the future.

What started as a pandemic has actually transformed everything. All these changes are making us future-ready. The trends have completely reshaped the post-COVID world and if all these trends are understood and implemented properly, it can benefit the individual, companies as well as the countries.
