RB Global Challenge 2019: The eureka moment when we qualified for the national round | Team Case Breakers

Our strategy for RB Global Challenge 2019 has always been to work hard and smart. We spent a lot of time working on our solution. We searched for new concepts and methods to improve our solution and made sure to maintain quality. As we have a tough curriculum to follow, we were in a situation where we were working on the competition as well as concentrating on our studies. We had RB regional round in the middle of our end trimester exams, so it was a little difficult for us to cope up with the pressure. But we were firm about to make it through. So we had to make sure to maintain a balance between the two. So, here is how we qualified for the national round.

Let’s get back to the competition. There were eight teams that made it to the finale of the competition. Each team comes from distinguished B-schools and we consider each of them to be tough contenders. Every team worked tooth and nail to win this competition.

RB Global Challenge 2019 helped us become a strong team

The competition was professionally managed by the organizers. The RB team always had our back whenever we needed them. They were very helpful to us. Being a part of the global competition and getting a chance to compete with diverse teams from countries such as Nigeria and Brazil was a great learning experience for us. Until the last stage, we were optimistic about our team’s performance.

As a contestant, we learned new processes and concepts from the bottom up. Initially, we were just a bunch of individuals minding our own business, but this competition helped us become a team. Now, we work together, complement each other and contradict in a healthy manner like a true team. During the process, we learned new concepts that were not a part of our curriculum. It has helped us expand our own horizons with a meaningful experience.

When we qualified for the national round

For us, the best moment of the competition was when we qualified for the national round. We kept our fingers crossed and waited for the result. After getting the confirmation, we were as happy as a clam. And we will always cherish this moment in our hearts forever.

Initially, it was quite challenging for us to work as a team. Although we have been friends for over a year, we struggled to coordinate with each other. Eventually, we learned to resolve conflicts between each other and made sure to be on the same page.

We think that we are a unique set of individuals and we face situations like a team. We believe in our abilities and feel truly confident when we work together.

Our team, Casebreakers, consists of three members from IIFT Delhi. Last year, we failed to qualify for the competition which left us disappointed. But, this year we made sure to leave no stone unturned. Hopefully, our hard work will pay off and we will win this competition.
