RPG Enterprises (also known as RPG Group) has grown with a relentless focus on excellence. Headquartered in Mumbai, India, the conglomerate has diversified portfolio in the areas of infrastructure, tyres, information technology, health, energy and plantations. Consisting of over fifteen companies across core sectors of the economy.

To enrich its quest for innovation and excellence RPG had launched ‘RPG Blizzard’ in the year 2012.

RPG Blizzard 6.0 held in the year 2017 was one such competition which was built on the ideals of business excellence and innovation, and it also gave students a strong platform to unleash their talent.

RPG Blizzard 6.0 was open for both first and final year students from select B-schools of the country-IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, XLRI Jamshedpur, NITIE Mumbai, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Ranchi, MDI Gurgaon, IIFT, IMI Delhi, FMS Delhi.

To give the competition a very contemporary fervour, RPG Blizzard 6.0 was designed in lines of the famous television series “Game of Thrones” also known as GOT.

Rounds

RPG Blizzard 6.0 had two different rounds- Campus Expert and National Expert Round. Teams with a maximum of 3 members work on individual cases provided by RPG. The cases pertained to one of many functions of HR, Marketing, Operations, business development & Strategy in the Campus Expert Round. Top 5 teams per campus were selected to present their solutions before the Leadership panel of RPG Group.

Upon evaluation, two teams per campus were selected as a Campus Expert Winner and a runner-up. The winners got an opportunity to represent the campus on the National level.

In the National Expert Round, the winners from the campus round along with 2 wildcard teams were given live business problems ranging across domains and companies of the RPG Group, tailor-made to challenge the bright minds to think disruptive, challenge status quo and bring in creative solutions.

The cases were on-

• Mergers and Acquisition by RPG Enterprises (Mergers and Acquisition)
• Replacement Sales by CEAT (Sales and Marketing)
• Leading the Digital Transformation by Zensar Technologies (Leading Digital)
• Smart Energy for Smart City by Raychem RPG (Strategy)
• Digital Transformation by KEC International (Operations and Strategy)
• Zensar Acquires Digispace by Zensar Technologies (HR Transformation)
  
  

Teams were mentored for the final presentation by the leading professionals of the RPG Group. Find more information on the cases here.

The National Expert round was held at RPG House, Mumbai. The solutions tabled by the participating teams were judged by the top leadership of the RPG Group.

Winners and Prizes

The House of Lannister team comprising of Navaneet Madhoor, Sailesh B, Vaibhav Grewal from IIM Ahmedabad was declared as the winner of the RPG Blizzard 6.0 View the list of winners here

The National Expert winner was awarded INR 1,00,000 with a Pre-placement Interview by RPG. The national-level runner-up team was awarded INR 50,000. And the Campus Expert winners received INR 50,000 followed by runner-up teams who had received INR 30,000.

RPG Blizzard 6.0 gives an exposure to work with different industries, which can further give clarity to the students while choosing the sector to work with. It was really a Game of Thrones enacted from a business perspective.
