Ritz of corporate competitions cannot be missed by anyone due to their large-scale engagement and appealing prizes, however, in particular, the stage it provides to the sprouting business experts is phenomenal. These stages really work like an extraordinary machine, the minute you step in with a bit of confidence there is a red carpet all the way till you make the best out of your life and skills. ACE Challenge 2018 is one such opportunity by E-commerce mammoth Amazon.

Amazon ACE Challenge 2018 is predominantly an online Case Study competition and only the final delivery is made in the presence of the company eminence during the final round. As soon as the case was launched I along with friends immediately reacted to this by forming a suitable team that will sail far in this wonderful case study expedition.

Amazon had been identified as one of the top recruiters of 2017 according to various sources and the organisation plans to hire a bulk of fresh talents in 2018. So we didn't want to miss this opportunity. As a team, we decided to give our best shot and make a mark in this Asia level competition, which was open for both PGP and PGPEX students from selected top Business schools from India and APAC regions.

Amazon ACE Challenge 2018 was held across two specific business areas -  Operations and Consumer Business. We decided to participate in the Operations section. Our team successfully completed the first round also known as ACE Case Breakers. We were one among the 5 selected teams and were invited to the Amazon Headquarters at Bengaluru. It was a great moment for us, however, the battle was only half won.

Sometimes competitions are about taking a risk as well and this was exactly in our case. We had our exams the very next day after case submission for the first round. But we chose to stick and overstretch because we were confident about our solution despite knowing the fact that only the top 5 teams will be selected. This has been the greatest learning for us from this participation.

We were given the final case to be solved and it was our collaborative effort that had made us stand out. There were days when we would spend sleepless nights trying to find the perfect solution to the case and Teamwork really matters. More than the individual contributions it's about the chemistry and understanding among teammates that let us stretch for longer hours.

Even though there was a fair amount of excitement in the air, simultaneously we were also slightly nervous. We were participating for the first time and contending with a team from ISB, a pretty formidable opponent with a good industry experience.

However, in the end, our hard work was really paid off and we were declared as the winner of the Amazon ACE Challenge 2018.

Amazon had been a very good host and made all proper arrangements like travel, accommodation, etc. Teams also enjoyed Icebreaker sessions and networking dinners. It has been an awesome winning experience worth remembering in the years to come.
