After securing AIR 1 in ICAI CA, this Mumbai-based girl aspires to do an MBA!
Securing an All India Rank (AIR) 1 in any exam is not an easy task. It requires perseverance and hard work with the right strategies to succeed. This feat was achieved by Priti Nandan Kamat when ICAI declared its old course intermediate results (July 2021 session) on 19 September 2021. Priti secured the first rank in the examination with a score of 388/700 (55.43 percent).
But is that all that she’ll settle for? ‘No’. She wants to further accelerate her career by doing an MBA in India and simultaneously give the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK). This is because she aims to work for Samsung in South Korea in the near future. The CA and MBA combination along with the Korean language skills will help her to make her resume replete with a diverse set of skills.
Now, you would be thinking how did she get AIR 1? Let’s see how she was able to achieve this feat.
Strategy and tips for CA aspirants
She shared a myriad of tips to prepare for CA. Some of her suggestions are as follow:
- Self-study helped her a lot in her preparation journey. She used to study at least 8 hours a day. She suggests the same to the CA aspirants to rely on self-study.
- She solved a lot of previous year's question papers for her course. This gave her a good hold of the question types asked in the examination.
- She preferred previous year's papers to mock tests as the previous year's papers closely resemble the actual paper that will be conducted.
- She emphasized staying calm before the exam. She suggests that it’s better not to take a book and read it just before the exam as it adds to the stress levels at the last moment.
In other news, Arjun Mehra of New Delhi secured the top rank in the CA new course exam with 84.25 percent or 674 marks out of 800.
