The Foreign Scholarship Scheme of the University of Oulu offers scholarships to academically talented foreign students studying for Bachelors or Masters at the University of Oulu. As part of the admissions process, applicants can qualify for a tuition grant. However, Oulu University Grants does not cover living expenses.

The tuition fee waiver is applicable for degree students who begin their studies on or after 1 August 2018 in English-taught Bachelor's and Master's degree programs and who are not citizens of an EU/EEA country or Switzerland. All students are expected to cover their own living expenses. The waiver for 50 percent, 75 percent or 100 percent of the entire tuition fee will be met by means of a scholarship.

Eligibility requirements for the tuition fee waiver program

The scholarship application will be processed only if the applicant meets the eligibility requirement. The Oulu University Scholarship can only be received once. For the people of countries outside the EU/EEA, the tuition fee is payable to students who are not residents of an EU/EEA member state or Switzerland.

Application procedure for the 2021-2022 International Scholarship

The Foreign Scholarship does not have a special application framework. The application period is 7 January 2021 to 20 January 2021 for the University of Oulu International Scholarships.

Selection requirements for the 2021-2022 University of Oulu Scholarship

Decisions on admissions and scholarships will be made concurrently. All students successful in obtaining an International Scholarship will be informed at the same time as their offer of admission to their International Study Program is verified. The selection process is based on previous academic achievement and academic ability.
