Our simple motto was this: “If you have a vision and you aren’t executing it, you’re hallucinating”. We kept looking at how we can use the current technology and resources to improve the future vision and goal. Fortunately, we were able to reach a few steps closer towards the mission of Hero MotoCorp as we stepped into the grand finale as National Finalists of Hero Campus Challenge Season 5.

Our unique strategy

Our Strategy includes 4 P's, namely Pertinence, Profound Research, Pragmatic Approach and Persistence. Pertinence came into play when we had to find the necessary gap in the automotive industry with respect to the company as well as customers. We had to present a solution which would act as a catalyst, to unlock a new future which would be reliable, sustainable, cleaner and equitable. Secondly, Profound Research involved in-depth primary and secondary research to understand the consumer pain points in order to devise a solution which directly improves consumer touchpoints from attention to action.

Thirdly, a Pragmatic approach helped us deal with the feasibility of the solution in the market so that it can be implemented by Hero MotoCorp. We had to preserve the mission and vision of the company. Also, we had to keep in mind the fact that the solution is easy to execute while doing the analysis. Finally, more than winning it's all about utmost dedication during the times of hardships. We attained this with a Persevering Attitude. So, there were times when we got stuck during our journey but our ability to convert challenges into opportunities made us tackle every challenge with ease.

The diverse team

We worked on the problem from Day 1 to the penultimate day of the grand finale. This is what helped us reach the final round as the National Finalists of Hero Campus Challenge Season 5. Having a team with members from diverse academic background helped us learn a lot during the course of the competition. It helped us come up with solutions, keeping the different aspects of the given problem statement in mind.

There have been situations when we challenged each other’s insights but the best part about the spirit of collegiality is that everyone understands the other person's justification with reliable references. So, altogether, communication plays an important role in any team. In the end, it’s all about the team’s performance which will be reviewed and not individual contributions.

A total of 5 teams made it to the Grand Finale. Out of all the teams present, we considered Team Hero Kathors from IIM Rohtak as our greatest competitors. Their solution was easy to implement and if implemented, would impact consumer touch-points.

The outstanding judgement

The judgement was impeccable. The jury was well-versed with the problem statement and asked questions after an in-depth analysis of the solution. Overall, the competition proved to be a great learning experience for us. Students interacted with industry experts to garner fruitful insights. It was grand in all aspects and was executed excellently.

Our interaction with industry experts added valuable flavours to our knowledge and understanding of the corporate world. This was a part of the penultimate stage of this esteemed competition. One important learning that we’ve garnered throughout the competition was the importance of having a holistic perspective while devising a solution.
