Victorious Moments: Asian Paints CANVAS 2018
Being a part of Asian Paints CANVAS 2018 felt rewarding in many ways. It kicked off with the campus round and progressed to the national round. We had put in our best endeavor to finally achieve the success of being awarded as the Second Runners Up.
The competition had a wonderful case study on BeautifulHomes.com (BH.com) in its core and it was quite unique from the other company cases studies. However, the problem statement was really challenging. We had to design a perfect omnichannel marketing strategy for BeautifulHomes.com (BH.com is a content marketing website that provides inspirational content for home décor enthusiasts in the country).
The entire journey lasted for about 2 months. During this time, we had been busy preparing a solution for the case. It was the most wonderful part of the Asian Paints CANVAS 2018 journey. We were a team of three members with different backgrounds, one fresher and other members with great work experience, so it was a total package.
The preparation phase was both tiring and exciting. We gathered a lot of understanding of marketing by going through the phases of the challenge. We tried working on both the ends of the spectrum- innovation and implementation.
There was no visible conflict between the two of us as the third member was off for student exchange program though we were in continuous touch and had great compatibility amongst us.
There were 10 teams in the national round. XLRI Jamshedpur was our toughest competitor. Even though we were confident and ready, it was challenging to make a pitch for the top management in the national round of Asian Paints CANVAS 2018.
Over the course of the day, every team presented their case and likewise, we also managed to give our best on the stage. Later on, we were declared as the Second Runners Up. It was a special recognition which the jury decided to bestow on us.
This challenge had brought fresh insights to us in many ways. It has mainly taught me how the industry implications should be always taken into consideration and how while working in a team, we tend to compliment each other’s thought process and resonate.
