“We walked out like stars”- TVS Credit E.P.I.C National Winners from IIM Kashipur

Being a Fintech industry enthusiast with a zeal to solve complex business problems,  TVS Credit E.P.I.C provided me with the perfect corporate opportunity to apply the technical knowledge and skills in solving real-life business problems.

This corporate competition not only blessed my team and me with a great learning experience but also with a chance to interact with industry stalwarts, a chance that one usually urges for!

Honing skills through challenges

TVS Credit offered three challenges that participants could opt for:

• Analytics challenge
• Strategy challenge
• IT challenge

Our team Gone with the Win opted for Strategy challenge. In total thirteen teams made it to the strategy challenge, with a team from IIM Raipur giving us tough competition. After acing round one, we were required to submit idea in round two, which proved to be the toughest challenge as we had no clue of the exact deliverable at that stage. We put in a lot of research, primary as well as secondary, to develop the idea submission.

The second major challenge was coordination. Our thought process didn't align in a team as we had different priorities at the time of competition. There were times when our personal sentiments overpowered the thought of teamwork, but finally, we were able to submit our ideas successfully to come out as a finalist. 

Crowning as National Winner 

"Walk out from here feeling like a star because you have owned it.", this line at the time of result announcement made our day. The unexpected win made us feel like stars, where we were honoured for all the efforts that we had put into this competition.

However, the best part of this competition was not only the announcement of being the winner but the detailed feedback on our presentation from the esteemed judges. This is rare to find, and so we consider this as our biggest learning. After participating in this competition did we realize that corporate competitions are the best place to learn and apply skills that we learn in business school. Hence, this competition advanced our research, presentation skills and gave direction to our thinking process, to present it in a confident manner.
