When Sky's the limit for Nayonika, IIM Lucknow | Dare2Compete Awards 2020

Sailing into a prestigious B-School and then navigating all the highs and lows of an MBA experience isn't an easy job. Yet Nayonika flourished as a competent professional in the business world. Being the National Winner of TSC Resolvr and a National Finalist of HUL LIME XI and Xiaomi Summit, she has made her colleagues and her college proud. Meeting all the criteria of Top 100 D2C Competitive Leaders 2020, a part of Unstop (formerly Dare2Compete)Awards 2020 and the 2nd most Competitive Leader at IIM Lucknow. This is what she has to say about winning the awards.

Getting ranked in two categories of Unstop (formerly Dare2Compete)Awards 2020 was really overwhelming and gave a sense of accomplishment. To get recognized for the work done over the last two years feels surreal. My parents were happy, but my friends and juniors were overjoyed. Getting acknowledged by D2C is huge for any MBA student as it's our bible for any sort of competitions and quizzes in the business world!

The love of learning

I’ve always been a very active person. Extracurriculars have always been a part of my learning and growth, be it art or sports apart from academics. One of my biggest takeaways from the MBA is the opportunity to participate in various business case competitions. They are the best source to learn about real business scenarios. So, the challenge of doing something new, learning a new concept or about a sector always motivated me. All I knew was “Never give up”!

Give it your best shot

I would like to thank my teammates for keeping the spirit alive when things got difficult. There have been times when we had reached the dead-end, were at loss of new ideas but as a team, we always stayed motivated. Winning was never my concern. I just wanted to be really good with my work, present something that would make sense and would be implementable by the organization. This kept us moving forward.

Don't follow the crowd, be yourself

To everyone who is looking forward to pitching in any competition or about to start their B-School journey, I would suggest not to run blindly after winning or doing cases just because your friends and peers are doing it. Only participate in those which invoke interest in you and give the zeal to work on. Understand your strengths and there will be nothing stopping you from performing well.
