All that you need to know about AT Makeathon

Is it fair that certain sections of society are deprived of the opportunities easily available to others? We don't think so.

We, the team of Shaastra IIT Madras, In collaboration with the TTK Centre for Rehabilitation Research and Device Development (R2D2) at IIT Madras, bring forth to you Assistive Technology (AT) Makeathon.

The event's main goal is to provide an effective solution by combining students' ideas with the resources of R2D2. We can enhance the quality of life of the elderly, adults, and children with disabilities by implementing successful prototypes designed by students. This will also create a mindset for social entrepreneurship among engineering students by providing them a platform to showcase their ideas and enabling them to set up their start-ups.

Please note that is mandatory to purchase Shaastra passport to attend all the events live in IIT Madras.

Rules:

  • Students can participate in teams of 1-3.
  • Participants are requested to pick one of the given problem statements
  • During the Preliminary Round, teams are advised to submit their technological ideas as abstracts along with product descriptions and dimensions.  Teams will be shortlisted based on their submissions and will proceed to the Grand finale round of AT Makeathon.
  • The Grand finale of AT Makeathon will be conducted during Shaastra. The selected teams will be presenting their ideas along with their prototypes in front of a panel of jury.
  • The winners of the AT Makeathon will get cash prizes and mentoring support from R2D2 for their product development and to start a venture.
