CreaTech 2024 was a platform for innovation and an opportunity for young engineers from 200+ premier engineering colleges to collaborate and harness their potential. And we, Team AKA from IIT Madras, are elated to have grabbed the title of National Winners. Here, we want to share our experiences, strategies, and learnings.

The L&T CreaTech 2024 Structure

The competition was split into 3 well throughout rounds:

The competition was amazing but undoubtedly fierce. All finalists were highly competitive, the selection process was rigorous, and the judgement quality was good. The problem statement was exciting to work on. 

All in all, it was a formidable competition that left us with countless unforgettable memories.

The Road To Success

Our road to success was paved through hard work, a few sleepless nights and, above all, a sound strategy.

Research & Problem Identification

Our strategy was centred around identifying the most challenging problem and developing a technological solution tailored to it. Rather than starting with a pre-existing solution and attempting to adapt it to a problem statement, we began by thoroughly understanding the problem and then crafting a solution from scratch. 

Iterative Refinement

Throughout the process, we focused on actively improving the solution based on the specific challenges we encountered. Each iteration of our approach involved refining the solution to better address the problem at hand. 

This iterative approach allowed us to continuously enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the solution, ensuring that it was well-suited to the problem we were addressing.

Play (& Complement) To Your Team Strengths

Our team's strength lay in our diverse skill sets and backgrounds. Collectively, we had expertise in technical knowledge, problem-solving, market analysis, and various fields such as data science, management, finance, and civil engineering.

• We complimented our strength with a well-rounded approach to tackling challenges. This diversity allowed us to approach problems from multiple angles and develop innovative solutions. 
• Each team member's unique talents complemented one another, enabling us to excel in the competition and go further together.

In The Middle Of Conflicts Lie Opportunities

As a team, our bond from participating in multiple events made managing conflicts easier. When disagreements arose, we valued everyone's input and made decisions based on the majority opinion. This approach helped us navigate challenges smoothly and stay united.

The Unfortegable Journey & Experience

The Best Of Both Worlds

Burning the midnight oil to juggle competition demands amidst our hectic college life was really good. Sharing laughs and unwinding at the coffee stall after intense work sessions added a touch of happiness to our journey. The anticipation and adrenaline rush while preparing for our presentation, followed by the electrifying moment of seizing the results, were truly spine-tingling experiences that bonded our team and made the entire journey unforgettable.

The Tangibles (& Intangibles)

Participating in the L&T CreaTech2024 exposed us to real-world problems encountered by industries, allowing us to propose our solutions. It was a chance to use our skills and knowledge for practical purposes. 

The opportunity to implement our solutions was incredibly rewarding. To be able to contribute directly to addressing industry challenges and making a tangible impact was an otherworldly experience.
