Case Study Submission

Teams are required to prepare a solution and submit a 6-slide presentation (in .ppt/.pptx format).

Virtual Campus/Wild Card Round

5 teams will be shortlisted per college from the 5 main campuses. These teams will present their case-study presentation to an esteemed jury panel as part of the virtual Campus Round. Top teams identified from the rest of the campuses will likewise present their submissions as part of the virtual Wild Card Round.

Mentorship Round

The top 6 teams teams will be assigned a mentor and undergo mentorship to refine their solutions for the National Finale.

National Finale

The top 6 teams shortlisted will present their final solutions to GSK's senior leadership team.

GSK Pharmaceuticals Limited is back with its riveting strategy competition, Engaging and Exciting minds for Excellence (E^3) 2021, which puts to test your expertise and out-of-the-box thinking skills in connecting with the intended audience and penetrate the market to tap potential stakeholders.

Through GSK E^3 2021, students get an opportunity to work on a real-world business problem, meet business partners & senior professionals, grab a PPI offer from GSK and earn attractive cash prizes!

Eligibility Criteria:

This competition is open to both 1st and 2nd year of the flagship programs of the following management institutes:

  • Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad
  • Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore
  • Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta
  • Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow
  • Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode
  • Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore
  • Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur
  • Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi
  • Indian School of Business (ISB)
  • Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon
  • S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai
  • National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai
  • Symbiosis Institute Of Business Management (SIBM), Pune
  • Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD), Pune
  • Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Delhi & Kolkata

The top 5 teams identified from the 5 main campuses (IIM Kozhikode, IIM Indore, SIBM Pune, SCMHRD Pune and MDI Gurgaon) will undergo a virtual Campus Round. All other campuses will fall under the Wild Card Entry category— top teams identified from these campuses will present their submissions as part of the virtual Wild Card Round.

Team Formation Guidelines:

  • Students have to register in teams of three.
  • The participants can be from any specialization.
  • Participants should be full-time students from the same campus.
  • Cross-specialization teams can participate. 
  • Cross-year teams are allowed.
  • One participant cannot be a member of more than one team.
  • All the team members are required to verify and confirm their details to form a team.
  • Any deviation from the above-mentioned guidelines will result in the immediate disqualification of the entire team.

Competition Structure:

  • Only registered teams can access the case study problem statement.
  • Each team will be required to submit a 6-slide presentation (in .ppt/.pptx format, team details slide included) containing the team's analysis/proposed solution to the problem statement.
  • Additional files (if any, such as MS-Excel sheets, etc.) are to be compressed along with the PPT and uploaded as a .zip file. References need to be mentioned and should be given due credit.
  • Naming Convention: TeamName_CampusName
  • Teams need to upload this presentation/zip file latest by 3rd November'21, 6:00 AM on the competition page itself.

Virtual Campus and Wildcard Rounds:

  • Based on the case-study submissions, 5 teams will be shortlisted from each college as Campus Finalists from the 5 main campuses - IIM Kozhikode, IIM Indore, SIBM Pune, SCMHRD Pune and MDI Gurgaon. These teams will present their final submissions virtually to an esteemed jury panel.
  • The Campus Winners will be declared on the same day.
  • The top teams shortlisted from the Wild Card campuses will likewise present their submissions virtually as part of the virtual Wild Card Round.
  • The top 6 teams so identified i.e., Campus/Wild Card Winners will advance to the National Finale.

Mentorship Round:

  • Each shortlisted team will be assigned a mentor to refine their solutions. The teams will get approximately one week for the preparation and refinement of their solution during this stage.

National Finale:

  • The 6 National Finalists will present their final solutions to GSK's senior leadership team. 
  • Further details of the national level round will be disclosed after all campus rounds are complete.

  • Partnering with India to eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis (LF) with a strategy consisting of two components - to stop the spread of infection (interrupting transmission) and to alleviate the suffering of affected populations (controlling morbidity).

  • Child Nutrition - GSK has built partnerships to implement an integrated approach to tackle child nutrition in Mumbai, Maharashtra in partnership with SNEHA to improve the nutritional status of married women at pre and post-conception and after delivery and of children aged 0-6 years in vulnerable communities in Mankhurd area of M/E ward, Mumbai. The project addresses healthcare from two sides - on the demand side, by attempting to create informed users of health services who will expect higher quality; and on the supply side, by working with public sector health providers (MCGM and ICDS) to improve the quality of health services.

  • School Sanitation - School is important for the cognitive, creative and social development of children. GSK has worked relentlessly to provide sanitation units, complete water and waste disposal systems, thereby providing access to clean sanitation to 10,000 students, teachers and staff from five schools in Nashik. They have expanded their work to additional schools and continue incorporating both the hardware and the behavioral change communication aspects to their work in addressing the sanitation challenge.
