All that you need to know about Micro Mouse Maze

This event challenges participants to build small, autonomous robots to navigate a maze. Competitors aim to find the quickest path to the center, overcoming twists and turns. Precision, speed, and agility are vital as these miniature robots race to solve the puzzle.

Note: The problem statement has been uploaded in the attachment column.

Guidelines:

  • All registered students can participate in the event.
  • A team should not have more than 5 participants.
  • Participants from one team are not allowed to be part of other teams.
  • Contestants must construct a self-operating micromouse, remote control operation is not permitted.
  • Throughout the event, there will be only one round.
  • The offline round will happen on Jan 7th, 2024 in IIT MADRAS.

Rules:

  • The micro-mouse is granted a maximum of 10 minutes to navigate the maze, from the start of the timer.
  • There will be two penalties, one is a search penalty that tells about how much time is being spent on the maze to start its new run and the other penalty is a touch penalty that tells about how many times the micro-mouse touched the walls.
  • A runtime is noted after every run of a mouse, covering the distance from the starting position to the destination.
  • After revealing the maze, the participants are not allowed to make any changes to the micro mouse.
  • The first prize is awarded to the mouse with the shortest official time, excluding any interference from its owner. Subsequent prizes follow in order of decreasing time achievement.
  • The prize money is subjected to reduction if no team finishes the task.

Bot Dimensions:

  • A micro-mouse shall not be larger in length or width than 16 cm.
  • There are no restrictions on the height of a Micro mouse.
  • The weight of the bot should be less than 10kg.

To attend the event at IIT Madras, a Shaastra passport is mandatory, Every individual must apply for a passport on the Shaastra website. Detailed procedures will be communicated to the participants before the event.
