Samarth'24: Stages and Timelines

Quiz Round (on Unstop)

This will be an online quiz round! Once the round is live, you will see the “Play” button here. This will be an online elimination-based quiz round on Impact-investing and ESG themes. The Quiz consists of 20 questions to be attempted in 15 minutes. There will be a mix of conceptual questions and questions based on current affairs. The shortlisted teams will be moved to the next stage of the competition.

Guidelines:

  1. Teams are required to submit a 5-slide presentation (excluding introduction, ending, and 1 appendix page) with the naming convention - “TeamName_CollegeName.pdf”.

Case Presentation (online)

Finalists will present their solutions in front of an esteemed judge panel, and two winners will be decided. The solutions will be judged based on feasibility and application in a real-world scenario. The judging panel will comprise one representative from Pravah, one from corporate, and a faculty from DMS.

Event Structure:

  • Three rounds will be conducted in the opportunity

Round 1:

  • The team leader will attempt the quiz
  • Format: 20 questions, 15 minutes
  • There will be no negative marking
  • The result will be declared on 18th Feb
  • It will be an elimination round

Round 2:

  • The top 50 teams will qualify for round 2
  • The result will be declared on 29th Feb
  • It will be an Elimination Round
  • Teams are required to submit a 5-slide PPT (excluding introduction, ending, and 1 appendix page) with the naming convention - “TeamName_CollegeName.pdf”. Only the team leader will be able to submit the ppt
  • Shortlisted students will receive a case study, which will be formulated in collaboration with Pravah (https://www.pravahindia.org/). The solutions will be judged on the basis of feasibility and application in a real-world scenario
  • Submission Details: Only the Team Leader, the person who registered the team, will be able to make the submissions. In case of file submissions, please make sure that the file size is less than 20 MB
  • Naming Convention for file submission: TeamName_CollegeName.pdf
  • Kindly mail your submission to the following email ID: nivah@dmsiitd.org 

 Rules and Regulations:

  • Team Size: 2-3 members
  • Multiple entries are not allowed
  • Eligibility: Only college students
  • B-School:
    • All the participants must be enrolled in a one-year or two-year full-time MBA/PGDM/BBA/similar course
    • Inter-college teams are allowed. Teams may contain a mix of 1st and 2nd year students. Inter-specialization teams are allowed
  • Engineering Colleges:
    • All the participants must be enrolled in a four-year/integrated/dual degree full-time B.Tech/BE/M.Tech course
    • Inter-college teams are allowed. Teams may contain a mix of students from any year of study. Inter-department teams are also allowed
  • Other Colleges:
    • Participants from arts/science/humanities colleges are invited to participate
  • In the event of any dispute, the decisions of the organizers will be binding on the participants

 Criteria of Evaluation:

  • Round 1: Quiz score and time taken will be considered to decide the winners
  • Round 2: Evaluation will be based on the feasibility and application of the idea in the real-world scenario
  • Round 3: The evaluation will be done by panel leaders from various domains

  • The Department of Management Studies is a result of the evolutionary process of growth of an idea floated in 1963. In 1993, the Department was brought into existence by the amendment to IIT (D) statutes. Clearly, the Department responds to a felt need of the Indian Industry and derives satisfaction from its heavy field orientation in all its curriculum activity.
  • The Department of Management Studies has 5 fully airconditioned theatres with wi-fi facility as well as LCD projectors so that the best possible environment for learning is ensured. The auditorium has a seating capacity of over 150 and hosts numerous guest lectures, seminars, and other programmes.
  • The departmental library houses a large collection of management books and also has one of the biggest collections of management-related fieldwork reports available in any institution.
