Johnson & Johnson, the health care giant called on MBA students across top B-Schools of the nation for its first-ever immersive program- J&J Imagivators. The idea was to select the most passionate innovators of the lot and take them on an all-expense paid ride through J&J Headquarters in Mumbai. The ride would give Immagivators a chance to learn about the organization and also get an unfiltered view of how J&J does what it does best.
To make this possible, they conducted a '20 Question with Johnson & Johnson' quiz where they tested participants on their knowledge of the company itself, the health care industry, and more. More than 5000 students from top B-Schools registered for the quiz, eager to be a part of this journey. Of these, J&J selected 30 talented students and opened the doors of their Mumbai office for them. Here, these J&J Imagivators are sharing their strategies, experiences, and journey to winning a spot in the immersive program.
Bank On Your Research And Cognitive Abilities
Bharti Gupta from SJMSOM IIT Bombay was ecstatic at winning a spot in the program. She had a well-thought-out plan which helped her win the J&J Immagivator title. Her strategy was to conduct thorough research on the organization and read through its website beforehand. She gathered all the information she could about the company’s vision, mission, and values, etc.
Her strategy attained fruition as the quiz questions were framed to walk participants through the company’s mission and vision, beliefs, and morals. In addition, the organization made sure that all participants got to know about the key roles and responsibilities in various sectors of the health care industry.
The Immagivator title isn’t the only thing that Swati has won. She feels that she now knows much more about J&J, its functioning, and its legacy than she did before. Throughout the challenge, Swati banked on her cognitive skills and researching abilities, which were utilized to the fullest.
Sagarika Panda from DMS IIT Delhi agrees with this point of view and believes it was the research she carried on before the quiz that helped her solve the 1-hour long quiz, in 31 minutes.
The Questions Evoked Introspection
The quiz included some introspective questions which pushed participants to contemplate their actions in life thus far and helped them gain a better understanding of their selves. The questions and situations reminded Swati of her days of volunteering for the upliftment of society. She worked with specially-abled people and worked on finding IoT and AI solutions for the problems they face in their day-to-day lives. She strongly resonates with J&J’s mission and vision because of these experiences.
A Well-Balanced Quiz
Sneha Kelkar, from NITIE Mumbai, found that the quiz was well balanced and a good amalgamation of questions that tested aptitude as well as helped them communicate their life goals and visions. The last 10 minutes of the quiz were adrenaline filled for Sneha as she carried on last-minute revisions. But in the end, she got to learn a lot about the company and is now looking forward to going on the exciting journey at the J&J office in Mumbai.
Sagarika adds that the concept of the quiz was very unique and made for a fantastic experience. It allowed students to put their best foot forward by providing adequate supplementary materials to help answer the questions. She concludes that a learning appetite and problem-solving attitude were the key factors that were crucial in winning this challenge.
J&J Imagivators was a one-of-a-kind program that gave all participants incredible insight into the world of cutting-edge technology and innovation in health care.
