Team "We are 100% sure" from DMS IIT Delhi share their journey of becoming the National Finalists of RB Global Challenge 2020
RB Global Challenge is one of the best corporate competitions but what makes it more special is the purpose that it solves. RB has always been a pioneer in making a difference in people's life by constantly innovating in the space of health, hygiene, and nutrition. By being a part of this competition, we wished to make a small contribution in the sphere of health and hygiene. Here is an anecdote of our journey to becoming the National finalists of RB Global Challenge 2020.
The competition was very well planned. The teams got a fair amount of time at every stage to work on their ideas. The masterclass sessions organized by leaders of RB gave excellent insights to tune the ideas. Also, the mentor allocated to us was really helpful and his inputs helped our team to level up our presentation.
Starting from the bottom and making it big
One of the most challenging phases in the competition was to narrow down to one final idea. We started the journey of RB Global Challenge 2020 by brainstorming and doing extensive research to identify the gaps in the market on which the company can capitalize. With so many ideas in mind, we went on a comprehensive discussion amongst ourselves to select one big idea which goes along with the RB's purpose.
We three had our own individual schedules and managing time was one of the major challenges on the virtual setup. But to overcome this we planned the entire thing well in advance and had set deadlines for ourselves for every task we used to take up. We knew each other's strengths very well and hence didn't face any conflicts internally. We made sure there are no loose ends and compromise in quality.
The motto to be real and stand out amongst all
Our team's forte was creativity and we put our best effort into product designing. Our motive was to bring our idea as close to reality as possible. Hence we made sure we put the maximum effort into the same to stand out. One of the key learning was to understand the current and future demand of the dynamic needs of the market and to frame the idea which best fits into RB's portfolio.
There were 12 teams. Although we didn’t get a chance to know all ideas, we were sure every team might have come up with something unique to give tough competition. However, we were extremely joyful that we cleared each stage and were standing till the end. Our team made constant efforts to improve our ideas as we progressed in further rounds. When we saw our name in the list of National finalists it was an indescribable feeling. To see our videos on the page of RB was really delightful and a moment that will stay with us forever!
