Campus Round
Participants need to submit a 2-3 slider PPT explaining their solution in form of an executive summary. Teams may choose to work on any one of the two cases that are provided.
Regional Round - Submissions
Post qualifying the campus round, the top teams will work on the case study and submit their detailed solutions (5-slider, 10-minute presentation) at the Regional Round.

Leadership Connect
Top teams will get an opportunity to work with business leaders of the respective cases to shape their submissions for the Finale.
Each participating team, Video logs their EDGE journey and experience. This will include social media engagement. Based on their creativity and engagement, the top 3 teams will be awarded at the Finale.
Finale Submission
Teams are required to submit a 10-slider (10-minute) presentation (including annexures) to support their modus operandi of analysis and demonstrate solutions vis-à-vis implementation, followed by a question-and-answer round with the panel.
National Finale
The teams will present their solutions to the senior Samsung leaders, where the winners will be adjudged and declared.

It's time to participate in the campus programme and give a head start to your career!
Rules:
- Teams may be formed by students belonging to different specialisations.
- A team should consist of 3 members from within their campus.
- Get creative with your team name! Just avoid using brand words like ‘Samsung,’ ‘Galaxy,’ ‘Flip,’ or anything along those lines.
- Students are required to register using their campus IDs only.
- A student cannot be a part of more than one team.
- Only the students of the specified programme from the list of campuses mentioned can participate.
- There is no restriction on the number of teams from an institute.
- The file size of the business plan should not exceed 5 MB for Round 1 and 20 MB for Round 2.
- For the next rounds, teams can submit their presentation in PPT or PPTX format, subject to a maximum size of 20 MB.
- Every team has to go through the Terms and Conditions before participating in the event.
- Participants will receive a verification email post registering their teams.

Structure:
E.D.G.E. consists of three rounds:
Campus Round:
- This round is all about ideation, where the team members jam together and put up an executive case summary that broadly defines the strategy proposed.
- Teams need to submit a 2-3 slider PPT (excluding team detail slide) explaining their solution.
- The file size of the business plan (PPT) should not exceed 5 MB.
- The jury shortlists teams from the campus to represent their institute in the Regional Rounds.
Regional Round:
- Post qualifying the campus round, the top teams work on the case study, and submit and present their detailed solutions in the Regional Round.
- Teams are required to make a 5-slider (10-minute) presentation (including annexures) to support their modus operandi of analysis and demonstrate solutions vis-à-vis implementation, followed by a question-and-answer round with the panel.
- The top teams will pitch virtually in front of a jury.
- The panel evaluates each team keeping the following things in consideration:
- Case, business and situation analysis
- Clarity of ideas/out-of-the-box thinking
- Ease of implementation
- Supporting analytics
- Financial viability/ROI
- Quality of presentation
Leadership Connect:
- The teams will get the opportunity to interact with Samsung's business leaders.
- The teams will work with these experts on their respective cases to shape their submissions for the Finale.
National Finale:
- The Regional Round winners will battle it out in the National Finale.
- Each team will get to interact with the leadership and showcase their solution.
- Eventually, leadership will come forward with their list of winners & runners-up.

About Samsung
During the late 1970s and early 1980s, Samsung Electronics diversified and expanded its core technology businesses globally.
Two research and development (R&D) institutes were established as per Samsung’s increasing focus on technology. Mergers and Acquisitions:
- AdGear was Samsung’s first pick in 2016. AdGear is a platform that specializes in digital advertising. With digital advertising expense across smartphones, wearables and other online devices anticipated to surpass $285 billion by 2020, digital advertising is one of the expanding domain in the advertisement division. It’s a strategic move for Samsung to make way into the digital advertising world, that allow better consumer engagement, pushing up the sales return on advertising.

Shoppers could pay for items in-store by tapping a piece of hardware onto an electronic payment receiving system through the technology developed by LoopPay which has been incorporated into Samsung’s mobile devices.
- Perch, a home monitoring Software Company based in the U.S., was the first pick of Samsung in 2017. Perch uses the Internet of Things technology to allow customers to control home appliances from outside their homes.
- SmartThings was acquired by Samsung for $200 million to solidify its position as a leading provider of a smart, synced home center. SmartThings Hub can be paired with kits developed by Samsung and the product can sync to hundreds of devices.
- Prismview, previously called Young Electric Sign Co., was acquired by Samsung in 2015 for an undisclosed amount to target the manufacturing of light-emitting diode displays. Digital billboards and message signs are the specialties of the Utah-based company. Application of liquid crystal display screens in televisions, smartphones, and tablets are done by Prismview.

Through their social contribution programs, Samsung Engineering seeks to improve conditions around the world. Company-wide, they utilize their strengths and resources to benefit local communities and help children and families in need. Employees are encouraged to participate in the many volunteer programs launched by the company.
- Building Libraries- Samsung as a part of its CSR has built libraries around the world for the children are ought to have a clean, safe, well-lit learning environment.
- Book Donation- With library buildings being refurbished all around the world, the next task for Samsung Engineering was to fill those libraries with books, so they ran a parallel program donating books in the names of guests.
- Technical School- In order to train local men and women in basic technical skills, such as welding and carpentry, Samsung Engineering began building technical schools near some of their major project sites.
